REGISTER FOR BALLET DIVISION

BALLET PROGRAM

Guam Conservatory of Arts is registering students for entry into its pre-professional division for children aged 6-18.  This rigorous and progressive program requires dedication and commitment for which students and their parents must make at the outset.  Depending upon age and experience, students may be required to take upwards of 5 classes a week.

Here's what you may expect at the registering process:

​

• Each applicant and parent will be interviewed and introduced to the program's requirements for attendance and dress code.

• A cursory examination of the applicant's flexibility and strength will follow.

• Applicants will be taught a simple and short dance routine to assess how well they focus their attention, follow instructions and move with expression.

• If requested to do so, applicants may perform a 1.5 minute solo. This can be any form of dance, but we ask applicants not to perform hip-hop or tap.

Apparel:

Girls: Wear tights, a leotard and ballet shoes if you already own them. Otherwise, wear a close fitted T-shirt with shorts, leggings or a comfortable but close-fitting pair of sweat pants with socks.

Boys: Wear tights (or athletic compression tights), a close fitted T-shirt and ballet shoes if you already own them.  Otherwise, wear a close-fitted T-shirt and shorts or a comfortable but close-fitting pair of sweat pants with socks.
